Larry Bainbridge, husband of Rotarian Martina, gave a wonderful presentation on the first half of his South American Adventure.

Larry and the 'Party of Five' spent months planning a South American Adventure that started in Cusco Peru, with a four day, 43 km hike over the mountains to Machu Picchu.

It was a physically challenging adventure that started at an already high altitude of 2409 m above sea level to a high peak height of 4200 m above sea level.

Larry prepared for months with cardiovascular training, strength exercises and endurance hikes to meet the challenge.

For four days they battled the elements and terrain with ominous names like ‘Dead Woman’s Pass', ‘ Death Stairs’, and ‘Gringo Killers’.

Descending from the mountains into the Ancient Inca Ruins of Machu Picchu.

The rest of their adventure was from the Deepest, Darkest Peru into the Amazon Jungle.

Larry has already been asked to come back and continue the story…
