What a great year to be part of Rotary International “Imagine Rotary” is this year’s theme from Rotary International 1st female President, Jennifer Jones from Ontario Canada.
As I was introduced in July as the first male President of the recently formed Rotary Club of Hamilton Stoney Creek! Taking two vibrant and active Clubs, those of Hamilton East Wentworth and Stoney Creek. During a time of challenge throughout the world and indeed locally, these two Clubs recognized that the experience, skills and knowledge of their members would better serve Rotary, its mission and this community by joining together to create a new legacy.
A decision that required thorough preparation, attention to detail and a good amount of trust in each other. I am very grateful to all those members who participated so optimistically and positively in creating our newly incorporated Club, already we are enjoying new friendships and an atmosphere of purpose, collaboration and fun!
This coming Rotary year we will continue to support local and international causes. Everything we do fits into the seven categories of Rotary Service; peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development, and supporting the environment. Polio is still a key area of focus, happily we are very close to the eradication of this crippling disease and Rotary continues to support the distribution of vaccines in countries across the globe.
There is and always will be much work to do, and we would like to invite you to join our community and become part of the cause. To learn more about what it means to be a member of Rotary I invite you to attend one of our meetings. Currently we are meeting via Zoom: the first and third Fridays of the month we meet at 7:30am, the second and fourth Fridays we meet at noon. Please check the calendar of events on this site to see the variety of topics and frequently featured key-note speakers who present on amazing experiences and ideas. Whether you're an active Rotarian, a prospective speaker, or just an interested individual, you are always welcome!
Thank you so much for visiting our site and taking the time to read about us. Be a difference maker in our community, email us at President@RotaryHSC.org As we Imagine Rotary and what we can do as members of the original Social Media Club!
Yours in Rotary,
Paul JL Crossman
