Hunger Awareness Week (May 6 - 10)
This year we are launching our first ever Hunger Awareness Week Food Drive in support of the Stoney Creek Community Food Bank.
In order to maximize our collective impact and raise as much food as possible, we are looking for retailers and small businesses to partner with us by allowing their customers to drop off non-perishable food items at their place of business. There is no cost to you; we’re just looking for local businesses where customers can drop off non-perishable food items. We would love to have as many of our fellow chamber members be part of this event as we continue to find ways to build up our community.
This May we are launching a new Stoney Creek-wide food drive in conjunction with the Stoney Creek Community Food Bank, Impact Day 2013 and National Hunger Awareness Week.

How it Works
We will provide you an 11x17” poster and advertise your business on our Impact Day website (www.impactday.ca) and map as a drop-off location. Please put up the poster in the beginning of April in a well trafficked area of your business so that your customers know that you are participating in the food drive. During the week of May 6-10 set up a box where your customers can drop off their non-perishable food items. After the food drive is over, we will pick up the food and deliver it directly to the Stoney Creek Community Food Bank for you.
Cost and Benefit to Your Business
There is no cost to participating; however by becoming involved, you can help raise food and awareness about hunger in Stoney Creek.
How to Get Involved
We know that every business has different capabilities, hours, locations and resources, so we have developed a number of ways that you can participate. The 4 streams are attached below and involve different levels of commitment and contribution. For more information about each stream, and a preview of the poster, you can visit www.impactday.ca and click on Hunger Awareness Week and Participate as a Business.

A few days after you receive this email, a member of our Rotary Club would like to contact you to see if you would be willing to support us as we seek to make a difference. Alternatively, if you know you would like to join us, you can contact us through our Impact Day website at www.impactday.ca
