Currently, HMCS Harry DeWolf is in Lake Ontario on its way to Hamilton. After traveling down the St. Lawrence River and making port calls along its track HMCS Harry DeWolf will be in Toronto this weekend. Then Grey Cup fever is coming to Hamilton as HMCS Harry DeWolf is bringing the Grey Cup to Hamilton on Monday, 13 Nov 2023. During the week, HMCS Harry DeWolf will be involved in activities related to the Grey Cup. HMCS Harry DeWolf has a special relationship with Hamilton. HMCS Harry DeWolf is the lead ship of its class (the DeWolf class) of offshore patrol vessels for the Royal Canadian Navy and is named after Vice Admiral Harry DeWolf, a former head of the Royal Canadian Navy but more importantly, Vice Admiral DeWolf was the first Captain of HMCS HAIDA, the honorary flagship of the Royal Canadian Navy and is berthed at Pier 8 in Hamilton. As the Captain of HMCS Haida, Vice Admiral Harry DeWolf played a major role in HMCS Haida earning the title “fightingest ship in the Royal Canadian Navy” let alone earning his personal nickname “Hard Over Harry”.
