On October 18th Maria Haldenby visited our early morning Rotary meeting and presented to our members and guests with a look into this wonderful organization.

Emmanuel House Hospice is just one of the many programs offered at Good Shepherd Hamilton, serving the many needs of the most marginalized of our community.
Good Shepherd is also the largest social service agency in Hamilton and employs approximately 600 staff.

The Hospice is run out of a beautiful historical home located in the Stinson neighbourhood.

The home has a historical designation and is very special to the neighborhood, being built in 1862 for Frederick W. Fearman, a local Hamilton grocer and pork producer.

The home is recognized as one of the city’s finest stone mansions erected in the pre-Confederation era.

Services at Emmanual House

The skills and compassion of the staff, make it possible to support patients in our community in the last days of a life-limiting illness with an expected end-of-life prognosis with less than three months.  Also, due to the team's expertise, they are able to adapt and respond to the ever-changing healthcare landscape.  In response, they are able to accommodate more complex and unique situations. This includes residents with higher medical needs and some additional or advanced medical interventions for comfort.
