Friday, June 3rd, 2022. Early morning Rotary Zoom meeting.
Leo Johnson - Founder of Empowerment Square was our guest speaker on Friday June 3rd at 7am.
Leo brought us an inspirational story about the creation of '"The Liberian Dream" project of building a Library and Learning Resource Center in his home country.
This centre will house the first library that many of the citizens will have ever seen. It will have a Rotary hall/room for meetings of local organizations and many resources that have not been available in this country until now. The organization is a strong advocate for education and entrepreneurism. The facility will also be solar powered as Liberia has no regulated power grid and many places rely on self-generator fossil fuel engines.
Friday, May 27th, 2022 Rotary Zoom lunch meeting was a very informative presentation by our President Tina Blatchford. Tina introduced us to her hobby of hatching caterpillar larva into beautiful Monarch butterflies. She claims that she is in no way a lepidopterist but merely someone who has a fascination and the time during the Covid isolation to explore this fascinating subject.
