Fun at McBean Park - Cow Chip Bingo

For our first Fall fundraiser, Rotary Club of Lincoln held a Cow Chip Bingo event.  Rotarians sold about 800 tickets. A field was marked off at McBean Park, and the tickets sold were randomly allocated to the squares on the field.

ImageA cow named Ali was provided by the Machado family of Lincoln.  She was released onto the field and went her merry way wandering around the field, kept on the field by the spectators and led part time by her young owner. After about 48 minutes, Ali did her business and marked the winning squares on the field (actually letting the chips fall on three squares). Thus, the 3 ticket holders shared a prize of $4000.

Thank you very much to the Machados for providing Ali, to Ali for doing her business, to the Rotarians and friends who put on the event and sold tickets, to Steve Rouland of the Sacramento Rotary Club for providing the fake cow, and especially to those who bought the tickets to the event.
