Commissioner Weygandt - Status of Placer County

Our Placer County Commissioner Robert Weygandt was our speaker. Robert lives North of Lincoln and has been our County Commissioner for 18 years, and before that he was a Lincoln Rotarian.  He gave an excellent overview of the status of Placer County government, especially the jail/prison situation where state prisoners are being sent to the counties. He is especially proud of the Placer Legacy land purchases, supported by Placer Land Trust, that are assuring that there will always be open space in our county.

We were pleased to meet Tony's guest, his younger brother Joe who lives in Sun City Roseville. We had several other guests who we encourage to consider club membership.

Karen and Dan reported that there was an excellent gathering for the membership fireside earlier in the week.  Frank won the drawing but no big bucks.

There was a vote to accept the Club 3-Year Vision that has been sent out to all members the week before.

Karen encouraged all members to get involved with the Taste of Italy and Wine Fest committees with meetings upcoming - see the Event Schedule on the website. Following the meeting, some members went to Creekside to participate in Book Buddies where we read with students to help them increase their leading skills.
