This event was even featured in the March District 5180 Newsletter as our Rotary at Work Day.
Held in conjunction with Lincoln Clay Day. Sponsored by the Art League of Lincoln, who says: In 1875 Gladding McBean opened it’s clay pipe factory, changing the Lincoln area from a ranching community to a booming manufacturing town. Be one of our artists or vendors at this celebration of our history as we partner with Gladding McBean and the Lincoln Rotary Club’s Kid’s Camp Clay - for kids of all ages. |

Inspiring Volunteers to Benefit the Non Profit Community
May 10, 2018
Trudy is a member of the Rotary Passport Club. Having worked with the Boys and Girls Club for a number of years, she and her partner Cynthia Woods saw a need to connect volunteers with non profit service organizations an they formed “Team Giving” in February of 2016. Since then they have coordinated 90 projects for 40 non profits and enabled 600 volunteers to log over 2000 volunteer hours. Many companies now pay employees to volunteer time for community service. “Team Giving”finds non profits for them to work with and coordinates their efforts. They are currently working with 45 non profit organizations. |

Dan's Last Meeting - Installation of Caron as New President
Jun 28, 2018 5:30 PM
No Lunch meeting that day. It is time for Dan's Kick-Out planned for Thursday June 28th at Turkey Creek. The Cost is $30 inclusive We will start with a social hour and cash bar at 5:30 PM. I will be taking registrations tomorrow at the meeting and will continue this for the meeting on June 21. No registrations will be accepted without payment, so bring your checks made out to Lincoln Rotary Club or bring cash. This will eliminate issues with us losing money on giving a count and then having no-shows. Please call or email me with any questions. Many have made reservations so looks like we will have a good crowd to farewell our President. Dan has been an amazing President so let's make his Kick-out just as amazing. This is open to our spouses or guests, too. Price is the same for all. |

"Biomed" at Lincoln High School
Aug 16, 2018
I will be presenting on the LHS Biomedical Sciences Pathway program. This pathway incorporates the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences Curriculum where students are taking on real-world, healthcare challenges and they’re doing it before they even graduate from high school. Working with the same tools used by professionals in hospitals and labs, students engage in compelling, hands-on activities and work together to find solutions to problems. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take. Additionally the LHS Biomedical Pathway offers an extra curricular Health Occupations club known as HOSA where students get more exposure to the healthcare professions. Through this association, students have the opportunity to become certified CPR instructors. Coming this school year our student instructors will be working to train fellow students in compression only CPR with the lofty goal of training ALL LHS graduating students by the time they graduate. |
