Congratulations, Molly!
Molly Ferguson grew up in Doylestown and is a CB West alumni ('08). She got her BA in International Studies and Women's and Gender Studies from USC in 2012, then joined the US Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa as a Community Health volunteer. Her Peace Corps focus was in renovating the health center in her village and in capacity development with the staff regarding vaccination, maternal and neonatal care and hygiene and sanitation. She organized a nationwide women's empowerment conference, served in a leadership role on a gender and development committee, and worked with middle school aged girls at summer camps. After her Peace Corps service, she joined John Snow, Inc. (JSI), a global health consulting firm in Washington, DC, supporting immunization programs all over the world, funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Gavi the Vaccine Alliance, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Molly will be spending the year before she leaves for the University of Queensland in Freetown, Sierra Leone, working in capacity development of medical and midwifery schools throughout the country. She is really looking forward to studying Peace and Conflict Resolution and focusing her career more on human rights advocacy.
