Guests and Visiting Rotarians:   Matt Taylor  welcomed  Art Weaver and Don Fraser from the downtown Club and our other guests.

 

Sergeant-At-Arms: John Klassen did the honours today but as we did not have a meeting scribe, all happy dollars will remain anonymous but most centred on the wonderful Gala at Club Roma.

 

Announcements:

 

There will not be a meeting on Monday, May 19, due to the Victoria Day Holiday. The following Monday, May 26 , there will be a Club Assembly at the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club at 6:00 P.M.

 

There will be a board meeting Friday May 16, at the Golf Club at 7:30 A.M.

 

There will be a meeting of the incoming Board on Tuesday May 13, 2008 at Greg's home at 7:30 P.M.

 

Group Study Exchange will visit our club on June 2.

 

The Club Picnic will be on Sunday June 29, 2008 at the home of Paul and Mimi Massuet.

 

The Lincoln Rotary Club Antique Road Show on May 10 at the Jordan Antiques Centre, Jordan 10 to 2 p.m.

 

Don Fraser brought along the Gossip Sheet about our club's charter night forty years ago. He is loaning it to us so that we may make copies.

 

The gala was a success and we may have raised close to $20,000. thanks to the committee for their hard work.

 

Guest Speaker:

 

Dan Toppari introduced Art Weaver from the Rotary Club of St. Catharines to speak on the history of and progress at Rotary Park.

 

Once again notes are limited but Art did announce that the park will hopefully be officially opened on October 19, 2008. This coincides with the District Conference.
