Your Board of Directors - approved a $500.00 donation in support of the Rotary Clubs of Alberta request for flooding repair support. A cheque was mailed off last week.

Bingo - John Teibert - John needs two volunteers for this Saturday and three volunteers for Saturday, September 27th

Garage Sale - Lynn BeaudrySeptember 14th, 2013 - Ina Grafton - Everything is coming together - Graham’s garage is getting full but drivers are needed to get the items to Ina Grafton on Friday night. Cogeco, Snap and Kijiji have all got ads in plus Ina Grafton will have their huge notice board on the road with an ad for the sale

Probus 25th celebration - Cathy As your President, I have been asked to represent our club tomorrow at the 25th anniversary of  the Probus Club of St. Catharines. On your behalf, I will be presenting them with a congratulatory certificate

Big Brothers/Big Sisters - Cathy  - Please remember that I am being arrested on September 19th - help keep me out of jail.

Grape and Wine Festival Parade - Arie - A huge thank you to Mark Beaudry for designing the banner that will be carried by the Youth Exchange students in the parade

Paul Harris Awards Luncheon - November 25th - Golf Club Rob Welch - The deadline for nominations is next week. 

2013 District Assembly - October 25th - 27th - Marriott Hotel, Niagara Falls. On Line registration is now available on the new RI web site.

The first ever Over 60 Outstanding Citizens award night  - Arie - So far has  raised over $1,000.00 to giveback to the community

Ice Dogs - Jim - Tickets are still available to go on Thursday, September 19th. Group rate is $15.00 per ticket- please let Jim know ASAP if you want to attend 

PAC - Dan Toppari - represented our club at the ribbon cutting of the new PAC - he placed his hands in the cement for all of us - thank you Dan. Claudia Vale and Peter Partridge will be our guests speakers next week to tell us more about the new PAC.

TREESTHATFEED - update - 60 breadfruit trees were presented to the Ministry of Education with the Jamaican government from the Rotary Club of Ocho Rios East-these trees were purchased through our International committee - the 60 schools represent 28,477 students, their families and local community  that will be affected by these trees and the product they will supply when mature

Tara is a 23 year old Brock student majoring in Psychology and Dramatic Arts. She hopes to continue her education in Toronto in Hospitality and Event Planning after graduation this year.She is also president of the Brock Comedy Club. Her hobbies are attending performances,skydiving and hiking. A truly well rrounded and inspirational RYLA candidate.


Tara spoke at length about her  life altering experience with RYLA in June - joining young adults from around the area- forming life long bonds, learning leadership skills, developing skills that hold her in good stead  as she graduates and joins the work force.She thanked the club for giving her this opportunity and she llooks forward to joining the Brock Rotaract Club and possibly becoming a member of our club.



Graham thanked Tara for giving us more insight into the RYLA program and sharing with us her family history- escaping from the middle Eat with her family to finally settle in Canada and enjoy what Canada has to offer as a free society.
