June Manning serving as Sergeant-at-Arms:

June asked for Happy dollars from all the Mothers who had a happy Mother's Day.

Laetitia de Witt had a very nice Mother's Day and also received a special gift from Bob McKay

Shelia Bristo was a happy and proud Mother when she gave her son a medal for winning the Mother's day Regatta

Cathy Henry is a happy Mother, 102 hours from now she will be sipping Rum and Cokes in Jamaica  

Paul Massuet was happy that his son took Mimi out for lunch.

Keith Shaver's two children also were in the Mother's Day Regatta and took 4th and 1st place. 

Jean Holbert Leighton was happy to lunch with her Mother.

Rob Welch was happy to be at today's meeting.

Don Hetherington was happy he did not receive flowers and for not receiving a ticket when driving passed the police at 160 km per hour in a car that radar cannot detect.

Greg McDonald was happy to attend his God daughter's wedding and for his Tango and Rumba dance lessons.

Ian Forbes was happy about a donut but we did not want to ask for any more details.

Bob Mc Bride was happy to take his 102 year old Mother in law out for a walk in the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Ron Kozub was happy Mother's Day is over and he was exhausted after taking his Mother and Mother in law who both required assistance in walking.

June Manning was Happy to see all three of her children.

Jim Hooper was happy he had some money this week to thank Don Beard for storing the auction items and Keith Shaver for mailing the Thank you letters.


ANNOUNCEMENTS

May 17th meeting :   at Don Hetherington's home 10 Scottdale Crt. Fonthill 7:00pm for incoming and outgoing Board Members.

Rib Fest Civic Holiday Weekend Friday August 4th - Monday August 7th. The St. Catharines downtown club have asked us to participate in the 50/50 draw.

Bingo Shelia Bristo John Teibert and Paul Monaghan volunteered on May 12th.  Attendance was lower approximately 226.   New members, this is a fun and easy make up. The Next Bingo is June 2nd.

International Rotary Bike Trek Join us for a spectacular ride along the Niagara Parkway from Niagara-on-the-lake to Niagara Falls and back. Registration tent located at the Kinsmen Hall parking near the corner of King & Mary 8:00 am to 9:30am. Entry Fees: individual $15.00, Family $25.00. Half the money raised will come back to our club. Paul Massuet will collect payment for pledges and entry fees no later than June 08, 07. Please make the cheques out to St. Catharines South Rotary Club.

Club Picnic Paul and Mimi Massuet will once again host a picnic for our club members on June 10th, 2006 . Volunteers and tables are needed.

Cardiac Catheterization Lab Cathy Henry announced Mr. John Walker and Archie Katzman are the Honorary Chairs of the Volunteer Capital Campaign team. The quiet phase of the campaign is in full swing. 10 million donations and another 5 million in pledges have been received. The New Hospital Campaign Team thanked the two clubs May Court and St. Catharines Rotary South for hosting the Winter Dreams Gala. The Public campaign will begin soon and they will be recognizing the two clubs for raising funds for this much needed facility.

Slapshot Leadership Program: Tom Schulz announced the Four students selected from St. Catharines enjoyed the program and they will be visiting the club in June to give us a report. RYLA no candidates have been selected due date May 15th.  

BIRTHDAYS   

Rob Welch and Mike Grifa   were recognized for their birthdays. Many happy returns Rob and Mike

Bob Mckay had the winning ticket, but did not pick the Queen of Spades.
