Jan Cook, Paul Harris Fellow Recipient, honoured by the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South.
 
Jan Cook, St. Catharines businessman and entrepreneur, has served as a valuable fundraiser and community leader in Niagara for more than two decades.

President of Credit Bureau Services Canada and CNN Staffing Solutions, Mr. Cook has co-chaired and chaired the Community Leader's Men's Invitation since 1988 raising over five million dollars for healthcare in Niagara. Mr. Cook is also co-chair for the North Niagara Cabinet for the Niagara Health System's "It's Our Time Campaign," leading a team of 25 hand-picked volunteers in raising the 40 million dollars needed for the new St. Catharines-based hospital.

Mr. Cook has successfully led other community capital campaigns including raising 4.5 million dollars for the Alzheimer Society of Niagara's new facility in St. Catharines and 2.5 million dollars for the St. Catharines Sportsplex/Seymour-Hannah Arena. He continues to play an ongoing role in fundraising for Gillian's Place, the Sexual Assault Centre, and Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold, to name but a few charitable, not-for-profit organizations.

Mr. Cook has also given his time and talent to various boards serving CAA Niagara, the St. Catharines Club, and the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club. Many others have recognized Jan Cook for his extraordinary commitment and dedication to our community. He is the recipient of the St. Catharines/Thorold Chamber of Commerce Business Volunteer of the Year Award and the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. He is a two-time recipient of the Member of the Year Award from the St. Catharines Business Club and received the Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Enterprise Award in 1998. Mr. Cook was also honoured to be a nominee for Citizen of the Year that same year.

A loving and supportive family with wife Lori, four beautiful children, and five adored grandchildren has enabled Mr. Cook to give his best to the development of his businesses and to the betterment of St. Catharines-Niagara.
