9. It’s never too early to put May 6th on your calendar for our Clubs Car Rally. Please put it in your calendar now and think of who you will ask to sponsor you. All our fundraising comes from sponsorship—not the entry fee. This makes it important to be sure to get some sponsors to support you in order to make this event a success for the club. More details to come as we get closer. There will be a short meeting after next week’s lunch for all Car Rally Committee members.

10. I would like to introduce Colin Gray who is the co-chair of Rotary's Golf Gives Back golf and Travel Lottery run by the Rotary Clubs of Burlington Central and Lakeshore. Colin is here to promote the lottery and to introduce the lottery as a possible fundraiser for our club. They have added four more clubs this year and hoping to add another ten or so next year as they grow this event. This is a nice little fundraiser that doesn't require a lot of time, effort or sunny weather to run.

Rotary Golf Gives is asking us for a partnership. This would require us to sell tickets for the lottery, 50% of all ticket proceeds will go to the Burlington Rotary Club, 25% will go to our club and 25% will go to administration.

Quote: "Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
