SERGEANT-AT-ARMS

John Klassen serving as Sergeant-at-Arms:

Everyone was fined and John hoped that Matt will contribute the same amount collected. Matt did not agree.

There was not a lot happy dollars after all us paying fines except for Paul Massuet and Jim Shannon who had a wonder full evening at Blasdell enjoying the good company and food at llio DiPaolo's Restaurant.  


ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Paul Harris Society: Ian Forbes asked us to submit nominee names to Ian, Ross or Matt.

Micro Credit : Laetitia de Witt suggested we read the Globe and Mail article about Micro Credit. Rotary International has been involved with theses projects that organize low-income persons, usually women, to borrow money, animals, or equipment to facilitate small economic self-help enterprises. The funds continue to revolve; funds are loaned to beneficiaries, repaid and loaned again, hopefully in perpetuity.

Diamond Gala info:   Julio Batres announced 299 tickets have been sold and 150 auction items have been received.  Volunteers are needed register online. Contact Jean Holbert Leighton for tickets and payments. Please bring a camera and take lots of pictures for our 10th annual Gala.

Bingo Greg McDonald announced John Teibert needs volunteers for May 12th bingo new members this is a fun and easy make up. 

Sexual Harassment Seminar: Dan Toppari, will prepare the club's Abuse and Harassments prevention policy and it will be reviewed and voted on May 28th. 

District 7090 Conference: May 4, 5, and 6. Our club has applied for 4 awards Literacy, Lighthouse, Presidential Citation and Champion. Matt Taylor and Dan Toppari will be attending May 4th. Laetitia deWitt and Bob McKay are planning to attend May 6th to accept any awards for the club.

International Rotary Bike Trek Join us for a spectacular ride along the Niagara Parkway from Niagara-on-the-lake to Niagara Falls and back. Registration tent located at the Kinsmen Hall parking near the corner of King & Mary 8:00 am to 9:30am. Entry Fees: individual $15.00, Family $25.00. Half the money raised will come back to our club. Paul Massuet will collect payment for pledges and entry fees no later than June 08, 07. Please make the cheques out to St. Catharines South Rotary Club.

BIRTHDAYS

 

George Fitzpatrick and Jason Pollock  were recognized for their birthdays. Many happy returns George and Jason!


50/50 DRAW

Brian Radford had the winning ticket, but picked the Jack of spades. 15 cards left and more than $400.00 in the pot.
