John D' Ambrosio is glad Ian will not be retiring before he does.
John Schulz will be spending 1 week in Dominican Republic.
Greg McDonald was proud his daughter graduated from McMaster but instead of going on to teaching she has received a free ride from McMaster to work on her Masters.
Bob McBride had a great time in Florida and Portugal.
Sorren Harrison was pleased to see some old faces and Jim Shannon.
Cathy Henry was pleased The St. Catharines Standard April 12th page 3 article mentioned the May Court Club and the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South working together on the annual Winter Dreams gala to raise funds for Hospice Niagara.
Matt Taylor Took Jo O'Brien from the Alzheimer Society advice and walked 3 ½ miles with Georgette then a 2 mile run. Matt's brain might be working better but his knee is not working now after it flared up.
Julio Batres Attended the District Assembly April 14th and was proud to announce the people selected last year's Ryla Slap Shot program are doing very well.


AMBASADORIALScholarships: Rachel Lepage a student attending the University of Ottawa, she speaks Spanish, Italian, French and German. Don Hetherington submitted Rachel's name and with John Teibert's help they will assist her with the interviews on June 2nd.  

Slapshot Leadership Program: Tom Schulz announced Slapshot's Four candidates have been selected from St. Catharines Denis Morris, Thorold High School, WestPark and Sir Winston Churchill.
RYLA no candidates have been selected.

Hospice Niagara Heidi Wilson announced new or gently used items are needed. Tea Pots, Cups / Saucers, Creamers, Sugars, Serving Platters, Table Cloths Trays, Books, Vases, Wine Glasses, Crystal Goblets, Silverware, Birdfeeders, Chess Sets, CD and Movies. Saturday April 28th 2007 Location: The Church of Christ 439 Ontario Street Time: 1:00 - 4:00.

Diamond Gala info:  June Manning announced we only have 19 days left to sell tickets and we need more items for auction. 281 tickets have been committed and 103 auction items have been received.  Forms are online fill them out as soon as possible seating arrangement and auction items must be organized. Contact Jean Holbert Leighton for tickets and payments. We need to sell more tickets and ask for more donations. Please bring a camera and take lots of pictures for our 10th annual Gala.

Bingo: Greg McDonald announced 372 people attended April 14th bingo and Heidi Wilson, Julio Batres and Don Beard were very busy that night. John Teibert needs volunteers for May 12th bingo new members this is a fun and easy make up. 

Sexual Harassment Seminar: Dan Toppari, Julio Batres, Shelia Bristo and Matt Taylor meet as a committee to discus strategies to implement the club's Abuse and Harassments prevention policy. 

District 7090 Conference: May 4, 5, and 6. Our club has applied for 4 awards Literacy, Lighthouse, Presidential Citation and Champion. Matt Taylor and Dan Toppari will be attending May 4th. Laetitia deWitt and Bob McKay are planning to attend May 6th to accept any awards for the club.

Blasdell/South ShoreN.Y.-   April 24th,this is one of our oldest club tradition.  Ron Kozub needs to know if you are planning to attend at the Blasdale club this year. Thirty one years ago, representatives of the Blasdale Club met members of our club at a District Conference and extended an invitation to meet. Our longstanding association is one of only a few international districts.  For those who want to car pool meet at the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club at 4:45.

International Rotary Bike Trek Join us for a spectacular ride along the Niagara Parkway from Niagara-on-the-lake to Niagara Falls and back. Registration tent located at the Kinsmen Hall parking near the corner of King & Mary 8:00 am to 9:30am. Entry Fees: individual $15.00, Family $25.00. Half the money raised will come back to our club.

50/50 DRAW

had the winning ticket, but picked the three of hearts. 16 cards left and more than $400.00 in the pot.
