John Teibert, a C.A. with Crawford, Smith, and Swallow and a Rotarian since 1991, had one goal for his second time serving as President of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South: to have fun while meeting the objectives of Rotary. And have fun we did.

We participated in bingos, Dragon Boat races, and Ribfest. We sold tickets for the Hospice 5 Car Draw and the Canadian Tour Championship. We organized our annual Take it to Heart Gala and Explore Niagara Car Rally. We planned for Rotary Tour du Lac. We hosted the District Governor, an in-house Paul Harris Awards Presentation, and a Joint Club Paul Harris Awards evening. We held Firesides. We enjoyed a members Christmas party.  We sent cards and best wishes to members. We donated blood. We presented the Howard Etherington Award. We helped with a furniture drive. We attended a Bison’s baseball game and visited our friends at the Blasdell Rotary Club. We bestowed Rotary Medals. We participated in Slapshot and RYLA. We held committee, board, and General Assembly meetings. We started a Strategic Visioning process. We published a weekly newsletter. We ensured that our club’s financial and administrative records were up-to-date and accurate. And we participated in District events and served on District committees.

John’s philosophy of Rotary is this: “To serve is a responsibility that everyone has, and everyone has talents that they can use to serve. Rotary provides me with this opportunity and, for that, I am grateful.”

For his fun and outstanding contribution as Club President for 2010-2011, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South is proud to recognize John Teibert as a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
