Paul Harris Fellow Recipient

“Cathy has been the driving force behind Rotary and May Court's efforts to raise funds for Hospice Niagara and the Heart Investigative Unit. Her tireless dedication to securing an end-of-life facility and the best in cardiac services speaks to her level of caring for those in need. Cathy is able to reach into the community in a positive capacity to coax individuals and corporations to donate to these causes.”  - Melody Cunningham, Co-Chair, Take it to Heart, and fellow May Courter.

Cathy Henry joined the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South in June 2006.  Club members had come to know Cathy, a registered nurse, through her efforts in raising $400,000 for Hospice Niagara.  Cathy was the recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow award at that time.

Since becoming a Rotarian, Cathy has been the driving force behind all of our club’s fundraising events:

-        The Diamond Gala;

-        Explore Niagara Car Rally, now entering its third year;

-        Niagara Hoe-Down

-        Take it to Heart, a collaborative initiative of PerformanceCars, the May Court Club of St. Catharines, and the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South for the Niagara Health System’s Heart Investigative Unit;

-        Rotary Tour du Lac; and

-        Project Noora, which brought a young child from Kurdistan to Canada for life-saving medical attention.

-   And others not listed

Including monies raised for Hospice Niagara, Cathy’s ability to inspire and mobilize individuals and corporations to give has helped raise nearly $1.15 million dollars for the good of our local and global community.

For her energy, enthusiasm, and tireless fundraising efforts, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South is proud to recognize Cathy Henry as a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
