Paul Monaghan General Manager George Darte Funeral Chapel was introduced by Paul Massuet as a good friend. Paul Massuet meet Paul Monaghan several years earlier as a guest of George Darte at one of our Galas. For 13 years Paul has been a very active member and Past President of the Niagara Falls Sunrise Rotary Club.

Hired by George Darte about 3 years ago Paul was very excited about sharing his thoughts about his new profession in the funeral industry. The firm was established in 1911 by George Darte's Great Grandfather and is now the only independent locally owned funeral home left in St. Catharines. In 2005 George's son Gregory joined the firm as a licensed Funeral Director, making him the 5th generation of funeral professionals. The Dartes run their business focusing on families and lead the Niagara Region in funeral home call volume and now have 30 full and part time employees.

Paul's background of over 25 years in communication industry, moving to funeral services has been an interesting career switch to say the least. Paul is responsible for budgets, establish and set pricing target, oversee operational and facilities management, direct fleet administration, conduct supply chain negotiations, speak and make presentations. Paul also resolves HR issues regarding employee recruitment, hiring, training, employee recognition and empowerment, employee's performance reviews and implement progressive discipline methods.

Thinking about the inevitability of one's death is subject that few like to consider. For many, actually moving ahead with the pre-planning or pre-paying for their funeral is even more difficult to act on. By taking time now to collect cost information and calmly making choices related to your own funeral arrangements, you'll be protecting your family against the stress of having to make these decisions at a time of extreme emotional stress.

George Darte Funeral Home has available, for families if they choose, to present DVD of their loved one.  A funeral is so much more than a way to say goodbye.

Paul showed us how Photographic Memories can be an opportunity to celebrate the life of someone special and share their stories of their lifetime in a way that is as unique as the individual being.
