Game for the World social evening with Rotaract and Interact

Come and join us for a fun social evening with our Rotoract and Interact club members, and play Game for the World! Our evening will be held at the meeting room at Golden Pin Bowling Lanes, 1010 West Miracle Mile on September 28th at 6:30 pm. Beverages and finger food will be served. This is a great opportunity for all of us to get to know one another better, and to learn more about HIV/AIDS.

Game for the World

What if we could talk about AIDS in a way that empowered people in any country of the world? Game for the World™ makes it possible.

This innovative board game teaches people about AIDS in a safe, engaging way. Players exchange beliefs, myths, and feelings about AIDS without the secrecy, shame, and ignorance that often surrounds this horrific disease. Game for the World provides a fun, informative vehicle for taking preventive action to fight AIDS.

The Game is distributed through the non-profit, Games for Life and is available in 6 languages. It is used in over 30 countries by organizations such as:- Peace Corps in Uganda and Ukraine; Kenyan Ministry of Education; Methodist Church of Southern Africa; African Medical Research Foundation in Tanzania;- Mexican Ministry of Health; Tucson Interfaith and HIV/AIDS Network and Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation. A grant from Tucson Sunrise Rotary Club enabled games to be supplied to  a Kenyan non-profit, Linda Arts Organization. The game has is now manufactured in Kenya and used in 44 schools and colleges, with a goal to distribute it to 53 more schools.

Anne Harman, the game's developer, has 40 years experience in human resources and training and development. Anne is founder and CEO of Games for Life and President of The Mallan Group, which produces "Know Me", the award-winning suite of trust-building games used in 28 countries. She is a proud member of Tucson Sunrise, and delighted to be the program chair!
