This meeting was held in the entrance hall of the Marilyn I Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, to celebrate the donation of a Water Feature
by our club

.
President George opened the meeting.
O Canada was lead by Rick Evans
A toast to the Queen and Canada

President George then introduced Dr. Tom Traves, President and Vice-Chancellor of Brock University to provide welcoming remarks, and acknowledge special guests – which he duly did.
Dr Traves then introduced Mayor Walter Sendzik.

Mayor Sendzik briefly thanked the Rotary Club (he himself being a member) and in particular Liz Palmieri, Past-President, for initiating the $100,000 donation in her role of chair of the Major Grants committee. He also alluded to the water feature itself – a permanent salve for the human spirit.

Liz Palmieri spoke of her pride in supporting the donation, and jokingly referred to her concern at being ‘outed’ as having a conflict of interest through her husband’s long involvement with Brock.

President George spoke warmly of Marilyn Walker. And he referred back to our club, and our ability to do things well together. He then closed the formal part of the meeting. All present were invited outside to admire the beautiful water feature irself.
Tours of the facility were then taken by club members, hosted by Brock staff.
