SOLD!
  FOR 800!   FOR $150   FOR $ 125

Our club took the responsibility to support the silent auction at our district conference last week.  President Howie and the club agreed that the members would each donate a bottle of wine  and that Rotarian Bill Charnetski would take this to the convention.  Almost immediately Rotarian Cliff Brown donated a beautiful woven wicker " Horn of Plenty" and Rotarian Adam Martens donated Shaw Theatre tickets, setting the position that with the 20 bottles of wine,  we were going to get serious!

Getting serious Bill and Emily got with the program....spent two days on an extensive wine tasting tour with their Wine Club, garnered 8 tasting packages which were added to the 2 that President Howie provided and designed the display.

Losing all sense of reality Bill and Emily decided to build 3 separate packages.

1. Wine Lover's Delight. - 20 bottles of NIAGARA wine together with wine tasting for a group of 4 from 3 wineries.  The presentation you see below was augmented with grape vines and bunches of red and green wine grapes and a VW van, complete with surf board.

This presentation received the second highest bid in the silent auction.  However , it was taken to the banquet for a further live auction.  Thanks to a stupendous algorithmic bidding  WHICH was SPEARHEADED by past DG'S Bruce and Haddow, it sold for $800!!!!

2. The Shaw Festival Experience - 2 tickets to either Lady Windermere's Fan or Our Brothers in the 2013 Season in a red jeweled box, plus tastings at 5 Niagara wineries for 2, plus a NOTL Rotarian Guide on request.

This presentation finished in the silent auction at $150!

3. Serious Winery Tours and Tastings. -  a Classic Tour and Tastings for 10 at Angels Gate Winery, plus Tasting for 6, with Cheese and Chocolate at Peninsula Ridge Winery and Chocolate for  paring with full body wines.

This presentation finished in the silent auction for $125!.

OUR CLUB IS TO BE COMMENDED ON ITS INITIATIVE WHICH PROVIDED $1075 TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION.

By line - Vice President , Bill Charnetski

(I would like to add my sincere thanks and appreciation for the fabulous work done by Bill and Emily, who took on this task and  in the face of adversity braved going to all these wineries in search of donations.)

A
GREAT BIG THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB MEMBERS OF NOTL.
