CLUB MEETING HIGHLIGHTS - December 13, 2022

Rotary Hall, Cave Springs Camp

President Brenda Kell-Kotwa called the IN-PERSON meeting to order at 7:30am & extended holiday greetings to all in attendance at this final Lincoln Rotary gathering in 2022. She invited everyone to enjoy the continental breakfast she had prepared and offered special thanks to Sue Foster for adding her amazing selection of home-made Christmas treats to the fare.

For invocation, Bob Groh reflected on the time of year and the many causes that Rotary supports as a worldwide collective in making a difference. Terry Kotwa followed with his Point of Pride and featured two recent experiences that made him proud. 1) At the Lamplighter Tour Cast Party as a wrap-up to the production, which finished on September 25, 2022, he was filled with awe at the wide variety of community members of all ages and from all walks of life who come together to make the annual tour possible. 2) When he & Brenda delivered the many wrapped gifts, gift cards and movie passes to Village of Hope at Christmas, Terry recognized the impact of Lincoln Rotary's "Gifts for Kids" project in contributing to the joy of youngsters whose families are economically challenged.

Among the many Happy Bucks offered by all, the majority featured festive activities planned for the holiday season. Bill Wiley highlighted how much he & his wife, Barb, enjoyed dinner with fellow Rotarians & family members at Just Cooking on November 30. Phil Goodwin is looking forward with much excitement to the arrival of his 2nd grandbaby expected very soon. And, Paul Roth was full of happiness for his renovated bathroom complete with a walk-in shower while John Maynard was both thankful and happy that extensive renovations at his home are almost complete after more than a year.

Dr. J Edgar Davey Elementary School HOLIDAY BREAKFAST - Wednesday, December 14, 2022

Volunteers are organized for gift wrapping at the school this evening in advance of the breakfast happening tomorrow where some 15 Rotarians and family members will be on hand to assist. Lincoln's Chef Brad Rempel (https://www.facebook.com/brad.rempel.chef/) is catering the event. Joanne Serkeyn extended her gratitude for the club's extraordinary support for this initiative, which is very near to her heart.

ROTARY CLUB OF LINCOLN/ROTARY CLUB OF LINCOLN FOUNDATION INC. 2021-22 FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

John Maynard, Chair, RCL Finance Committee, presented the annual combined financial statements (July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022), which were unanimously approved. Much appreciation is given to John for streamlining the format and clarity of the statements in addition to his support for setting up the online programs for managing the club's financial accounting and reporting processes.
