At Hoxie Hall at Cave Springs Camp, President Brenda Kell-Kotwa welcomed 13 Lincoln Rotarians to the meeting. Gayle Lucas-Roth opened the meeting with a reflection on the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022. She spoke of the Queen's selfless approach to service for more than 70 years and how the profound outpouring of gratitude from people around the globe was recognizing her for all that she gave in "Service Above Self". Gayle invited all to toast "the King" and our Rotary movement.
For her Point of Pride, Anna Murre expressed how important engagement is in Rotary. She spoke of her pride in all that Lincoln Rotary has accomplished over the past few months and is currently undertaking with two major projects in September. Without the engagement of our members, these substantial achievements would be impossible.
In follow-up, Brenda congratulated Joanne Serkeyn & Anna as candidates for election to Town of Lincoln Council on October 24, 2022. And, she offered an honorary mention to Rob Foster for his acclamation as Niagara Regional Councillor for the Town of Lincoln.
CLUB ASSEMBLY
President Brenda began the meeting by noting that both the Golf Tournament (September 21) and Lamplighter Tour (September 13, 23, 24, 25) are "all hands on deck" events. With these two major events taking place during the same week, the REGULAR CLUB MEETING on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 is CANCELLED.
On the theme of ENGAGEMENT, it is now time for all members to select & sign-up for one or more of the club's STANDING COMMITTEES. While a full listing of all committees will be circulated soon, the major portion of the assembly provided for members to provide a brief overview of the primary responsibilities of the following committees...

To close the meeting, there was discussion about using PODS for organizing club meetings. Each month a different group of Rotarians, known as a POD, are selected to run the meetings for that month.
By general consensus, members present agreed that this system would allow for greater engagement by all club members. The next step will be to draft a PODS guidelines document for distribution and feedback with a tentative implementation date set for January 2023.
