Rotary Club of Lincoln Meeting via Zoom

With 21 Lincoln Rotarians present, President Brenda Kell-Kotwa called the meeting to order. Terry Kotwa offered the INVOCATION where he asked us all to be mindful of our service opportunities and enduring values as we strive to make a difference. His toast was to the Queen, Canada, and our Rotary Club of Lincoln as the "Little Engine That Could". Joanne Serkeyn's POINT OF PRIDE featured her experience as a participant in RCL's superb management of the parking at the SIP NIAGARA FESTIVAL during the first weekend of December 2021. She spoke about how great it was that so many exuberant club members & other volunteers representing other community organizations joined together to make the most of a difficult situation and work together to bring good to our community.
Celebrating Paul RothSue Foster, District 7090 Area 5 Assistant Governor, proudly announced that Lincoln Rotarian Paul Roth is the recipient of his 3rd Paul Harris (PH) Fellowship Award. She explained that this recognition comes because of Paul's outstanding support for The Rotary Foundation through his regular contributions. PH Awards honour individuals for every $1,000 contributed by or in their name. In response, Paul indicated that his first PH Award meant the most to him as it came from his former club, RC Brighton, in appreciation for his significant involvement as a member.

2021 Gifts for Kids - RCL's SIP Niagara Festival Parking Project raised just under $3,000 with an additional $5,000 required for a total of $8,000 to purchase gifts for children served by Community Care of West Niagara (CCWN) and Village of Hope (VoH).
MOTION: Be it resolved that the Club top up the funds raised at SIP Niagara to $8,000 and purchase gifts to be distributed equally between CCWN & VoH.

YWCA Niagara Region Support - The YW provided volunteers to support RCL's SIP Niagara Parking Project with their portion of the proceeds raised amounting to $200, which was substantially short of the total originally estimated.
MOTION: Be it resolved that the Club donate $500 to YWCA Niagara Region

Cave Springs Camp THANK YOU - David Wood expressed appreciation to the club for its support of Cave Springs Camp. He noted that the new "Rotary Hall" sign has now been installed at Legacy Hall and confirmed the open invitation for the club to use the venue for its meetings going forward.

- Possibly, in collaboration with one or more other Rotary club(s)
- Affordable - maximum $2,000 US grant available; remainder afforded in RCL 2022-23 Budget
- Leadership - team of at least 3 Lincoln Rotarians to plan & implement project
President Brenda adjourned the meeting at 8:55am with the 4-way test.
