ConVal Quest
QUEST: Quality  Unlimited Educational Summer Training

Quest is a free summer camp/school  for 75 middle school students whose families cannot afford a private camp. Quest is held at Nature’s Classroom at Sargent Center in Hancock, NH.

Quest offers middle school students an opportunity to maintain their academic skills, and not to fall victim to the “summer slide.” Quest benefits the entire school: a recent study by the Jaffrey-Rindge School District showed a direct correlation between overall school performance with their three-year Quest program.

Quest is co-sponsored by people like you. Half  of Quest’s  cost will be paid by ConVal. The rest depends on financial support from people like you. Please consider a generous gift to create a brighter future for our ConVal students!

How You Can Help to Make Quest a Reality for Our ConVal Youth

Quest has a lifetime impact on our students. It takes them to a new classroom—Nature’s Classroom—and surrounds them with teachers and adult role models who become their coaches for life. The ConVal School System provides partial funding.

All other costs are paid through private donations. Quest cannot exist without your generous financial support.  Your gift helps fund staff and facility costs at Sargent Center’s Nature’s Classroom.  Your donations also pay for Quest uniforms, supplies, and equipment.

Your gift changes lives. Please make your tax-deductible checks payable to:

Peterborough Rotary Charitable Trust

Please write  “Quest” on the bottom of your check and give it to a Peterborough Rotary volunteer.

Academic Support

Quest campers are drawn from students who are most likely to suffer from the “summer slide.” Academic support is founded on the practical applications of subjects such as mathematics, physics, and natural science.

Each day starts with a morning learning program staffed by teacher/counselors from Nature’s Classroom. They are assisted by adult volunteers approved through ConVal and the Peterborough Rotary Club.

Adult volunteers often help to provide a different way to view a practical learning opportunity.  Working together with the professional staff at Nature’s Classroom, volunteers serve as adult role models for campers.

ConVal Quest combines an overnight camping experience with the practical application of subjects taught in school. Based on a study by the Jaffray Rindge School District, Quest also has a ripple effect…leading to improved academic performance among all middle school students.
