Mike Dugas has worked as a transportation engineer in the NHDOT's Bureau of Highway Design since 1989, following a short stint in the private sector in Rhode Island.  In his present capacity as the Chief of Preliminary Design, he oversees a staff of 15 engineers and technicians involved with the early stages of highway design projects, including concept development, environmental permitting, and public outreach, as well as implementation of New Hampshire’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan, and the permitting of major private developments on State highways.  Mr. Dugas is a 1987 graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
