What is ConVal Quest?

The dinner/dance will be the second year of a fundraising evening to support the ConVal Quest Camp, to be held for its sixth year in the summer of 2019. The camp is a week-long overnight experience for middle school students selected by the South Meadow School and Great Brook School to participate in an alternative educational approach within an immersive social setting. The program is run by the impressive professional staff of Nature’s Classroom and combines non-traditional academic elements of hands-on outdoor learning with cooperative team building, ecological awareness, and adventure camp fun during a week of personal interaction with no electronic media.

The experience is free for the selected students thanks to generous supporters like you and significant support from the ConVal School District, recognizing the importance of helping a critically significant portion of the middle school deal effectively with the lasting decisions often made at that stage of their education. The ConVal Quest program has been credited with improved academic performance across both middle schools, especially addressing what has sometimes been termed the “summer slide” in the past. This event is held at Sargent Center, where Nature’s Classroom creates the magic.
