On December 18th, Jen Morton & Melissa Baxter, Co-Coordinators of End 68 Hours of Hunger Nashua, addressed the Rotary Club of Nashua, regarding End 68 Hours of Hunger. Jan and Melissa are volunteers. They thanked the Rotary for sponsoring the weeks in December and April of this year. This program puts nourishing food in the hands of school children to carry them through the vacation weekend. Each bag of food costs $10 each week and provides two breakfasts, two lunches and three dinners for a child.

Vacation week is a long time to go without food aid. Donations totaling $2,300 paid for all of the food out in the hallway at the Marriott for the neediest children of Nashua. This was half the cost of what it cost to pack the bags last year thanks to a new partnership with NH Food Bank that allows End 68 to buy food at $.98 per lb. This has led to an increase in the amount of children served while decreasing the cost of food over the year. Both Clubs formed a line & all in attendance filled their bags of canned & boxed food items for distribution to designated schools for the holidays.

Congrats to both Clubs for their efforts in making this event possible.
