Once again Milford Rotary is participating in Rotary International’s youth exchange program. Our inbound student, Adeola Adesiyun, arrived on September 4th. Adeola is from Lagos, Nigeria. According to Doug Rupert, her folks are both architects, she has two older brothers, one of whom lives in Canada, and she has completed Nigeria's standard 11 years of education. Adeola will be living with Julie & Matt on the farm for about 3 months, then with Shannon Chandley and Tom Silvia in Amherst.   There is an opening for a third host family from Amherst or Mont Vernon so that Adeola can attend Souhegan High – please see Doug Rupert for details.

The club is sponsoring Isaac Dell, one of four outbound students from Peterborough, on his journey to Belgium.  He arrived in around August 24th and as pictured below was warmly greeted by his host parents, Stef Gys and Ann Vinckx, and family.  They live in Vösselaar, Belgium which is located in the province of Antwerp, in the northeast corner of Belgium on the Netherlands border.

The Rotary Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity for young people who spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by local Rotary clubs.
According to RI’s website, Rotary Youth Exchange is the opportunity of a lifetime for the more than 8,000 students who participate each year. By sharing their own culture and embracing a new one, participants help foster global understanding—and learn a great deal about themselves and their home country in the process.
