Dr. Yves Pacifique Gakunde - A story of hope from the Rwandan Civil War
Dr. Yves Pacifique Gakunde of the Regional Network for Conservation Educators in the Albertine Rift (amongst other organizaitons) will speak about his story of hope, and how the opposing sides of the Civil War in Rwanda were able to make peace with each other.
Whether working with National Geographic scientists or the City of Keene, Dr. Gakunde is passionate about empowering community through conservation and through service, both in Keene, NH and in Rwanda, his homeland. A doctoral graduate of Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England, Yves has served as president of the Elm City Keene Rotary Club and has helped guide the City of Keene's Human Rights Committee. He is the Purchasing and Contract Services Manager for the City of Keene.
