Congratulations to our local Destination Imagination Team!  Destination Imagination encourages STEM activities with teamwork.  Team chose fine arts challenge and chose Jack in the Beanstock to retell and made up a story based on the man who sold Jack the beans.  Wrote their own script, designed own props, etc with no assistance from adults.  4^th and 5^th grade I-LES students are heading to Kansas City, MI for global competition after coming in first during the state competition.  Most students have never ridden in a plane or been out of state so they are very excited.  They have been fundraising for the trip.  Our club gave them a check for $2500 to help with their fundraising efforts.

Jim updated on the Narcan project.  State of NH wants to put boxes with Narcan in locations in town.  Jim is working with the town on where to place them.  32 Nalox boxes for the area with Narcan in them.  He will report back.

 

Scholarship committee met.  Only 9 students applied for scholarships, which is significantly lower than the usual 24 applications.  $12,500 was awarded to those students.

 

Joyce from Lake Winnipesaukee Community Clean-up.  They have joined with Lake Winnipesaukee Association, a 501c-3.  We will be working with them on the clean up this weekend.  This is their fifth year cleaning around the entire lake including all the bays, beaches, and docks.  Team lead at each location.  We are expecting a good turn out this year.  Need to find a way to get the younger generation involved including the schools.  Saturday is the big day and everyone who signed up should have received an email. All materials are provided. Going forward, we should get in touch with the DPW in every town for assistance. 

 

John Moulton very happy that the sun is out and we haven’t lost any more cats.  Dean spent last week at the happiest place in the world with the grands and three days with the Dehnels and Reichlins hiking.  Jim M. getting things for the grands from the Gulezians.  Chuck for the clean-up.  Tim for the approval for the quarry road viewing platform approval.  Kevin one for each grandchild they’ve been babysitting over the past two weeks and for a big promotion for his son.
