President Betsey Welcomed all, led us in the pledge and Dell Clough led us in prayer.

Betsy reported on the Membership Committee and Board of Director’s endorsement of Peter Kador for membership in our club. The vote was unanimous. Peter was sworn in by Fred as is our protocol and was welcomed with a round of applause. He spoke briefly of his commitment to ‘service’ over many years and of his desire to join us in “Service Over Self”.
Teresa and Kevin “entered the ring” of humor. Teresa spoke of a young couple, a state trooper, a DUI arrest without the usual “STOP” and a juggling act! Kevin talked about a father “wisely” introducing his son to alcohol after which he pushed him home in a baby carriage! Hum!... a lot of emphasis on drinking in a ‘dry venue’!

- Putting the final touches on the Float for the 250TH Parade at Teresa’s house (295 Piper Hill Road) on August 4 beginning at 10 AM. Let her know asap if you plan on helping AND if you plan to walk or ride in the parade
Happy Dollars
were donated by Brian who thanked his softball players but was later accused of cheering for the opposing team! Dean reported on his 18 days in Iceland and Denmark attending the Rotary International Convention. Best of all he met and enjoyed two of our former exchange students. Marcus’ family treated him royally!
Tom Fairbrother recently entertained 27 guests! (Only a plumber could do that!) Fred welcomed our newest member once again; praised Carl for the successful Rotary Annual Loon Cook-out; and extended well deserved praise to John Moulton. Moulton Farm was recently named the “Best Farmstand in New Hampshire”. John received extended applause! Dan reported on is 18 days kayaking the ”white water” of the Colorado River. Randy reported on his trip to Helsinki. Ed sought anyone who would take away his useable PT wood for a donation to Rotary that he would match.
PROGRAM
President Betsy delivered the program: “Who Am I” . Those present were asked to identify a “fact” about a fellow Rotarian that that Rotarian had previously submitted to her. Out of a possible, no one scored higher than 3. Some of those to be ID’ed noted events in their past with pride. Others exposed themselves to possible further inquiry. Still others took the ‘soft road” – hugs and kisses. No one got ‘down and dirty’ with their revelation unless you count ‘mud wrestling’. What your colleagues revealed of themselves was interesting BUT “Was it the TRUTH!” Hum! Got to be right!
Betsy told us she isn’t finished yet… more to come. Thanks Betsy… it was a nice twist on an evening program.
A letter and report from Meredith Pathways Committee is attached. We will be voting on the donation to the committee at our meeting on August 15, 2018.
