ZOOM MEETING OPENED BY President Craig
Pledge: The Pledge was led by Craig Wiggin.
Prayer: Craig also offered the prayer for this evening.
Announcements: There is no program tonight. If anyone has ideas for upcoming ZOOM programs, please contact Erin. Kevin Kelly has sent everyone notification/invitations to the June 6 District Gala. He will give details tonight. The MaskUP New Hampshire project went very well. More than 6,000 masks were provided to folks, and people donate approximately $3,200 during the weekend. Other clubs, including the two in Nashua, also did this program and 67,000 masks were provided. Alex and Steve are very happy. Thank you Teresa for making all this come together so seamlessly!!
The GotLunch! Cooler project has also been very successful.
Next Thursday is the Be Our Guest event at Meredith Community Center. This is the third week, and the number of recipients has more than tripled. We have provided financial aid to Be Our Guest of $4,500.
Kevin talked about the upcoming Gala. There are 60 clubs involved in the ZOOM event on June 6 from 7:30 pm to 8:45. There is a $20 donation and it is also open to the public. The theme is “Stayin Alive” – rather appropriate – there will be music and dancing. The funs raised will support local causes and each club will decide how to donate funds in their communities. The MA and NH governors will also participate. The email Kevin sent includes a link to the website for donations. Gary suggested sending email through Constant Contacts to the Casino Night attendees to increase participation. This event is to promote buying from local businesses and having fun!
Jasmine did a tremendously generous act with the $250 she was awarded at the Four Way Test evening: she donated all the money to Belknap House to “pay it forward” … she is truly an exceptional young woman. Thank you Jasmine for your kind heart.
Craig asked if anyone from any of the Committees had any input: Erin thanked Jim McFarlin for his endless work to raise money for the Library!!! The Scholarship Committee met last weekend and read the 26 applications from potential scholarship winners. This year we will award $29,600 in scholarships to deserving students. Moultonboro Academy will incorporate Facebook for this presentation and ILH … well, that is still a secret!
Kevin thanked Heidi for her extraordinary efforts to get this done. Great work.
Fines & Happy Dollars:
Craig donated $20 for Casey attaining her JD, now she can afford a good nursing home for him and Nancy. They celebrated with lobstah! Jim McFarlin had $20 for the progress at MPL. Bonnie had $20 for Ariana graduation from high school. She now has her own apartment!! Heidi had $30 for each year in her daughter’s life and beating cancer. Congratulations! Erin had $15 for Jim McFarlin’s efforts, for her dog surviving his dinner of cat litter with help from the ER vet, and for Heidi for her leadership on the scholarship committee. Gary had $20 for Camp Resilience, which will hopefully open soon. Keven had $20 for his terrific team at VNA who each had 128 visits in April. John King had $20 for everyone’s good health.
Have a good week!
