- Fred Strader - make-up update. The new rules are that you can “bank” them and use them throughout the Rotary year. Examples of make-ups – working a Rotary project, e.g. Casino Night or Clean UP the Bay, etc.

Acton Academy, a one room schoolhouse serving ages 5 – 11 years, is a school opened this fall in Laconia. Model will grow with the children. They are accredited.
Mary migrated from being a realtor to wanting to be a writer to becoming a mother and looking around for education for children.
Goal is to be good at life rather than being good at school. Foundation is on four pillars 1. Montessori – follow the child’s curiosity. 2. Google when gaming – embrace technology for a short period of time during the day to push the limits. 3. Alcoholics Anonymous – having an accountability partner to keep track of your goals. Children create their own accountability contract. 4. Boy Scouts – having to prove that you have accomplished. Earn badges instead of grades.
They have various “Quest”s e.g A play - Students write the script and direct, make own costumes and props, sell tickets and set up theater.
