Wendy convened the meeting at 6:00 pm. She led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Dan Whitney led the prayer. Bonnie Ireland performed her new position as sergeant at arms.

At 6:39 p.m., Jim McFarlin introduced Paula Wanza to make a presentation about the Meredith Adaptive Launch at Leavitt Park. She presented a slide show showing the project and noted that it had taken some time to reach this point.
The Adaptive Launch System design incorporates many ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) features and allows all individuals to ease their kayak down the slide while they travel along the gangway. The floating docks are engineered for maximum flotation stabilization.
The Meredith Parks and Rec Department is diligently working to ensure the Kayak Launch at Leavitt Beach is inclusive and accessible to all persons. This includes providing access to persons with disabilities, such as those with balance issues, neuropathies, arthritis, and even strokes, fostering a sense of community and empathy.
The Adaptive Launch Committee intends to raise $58,000 to add an adaptive launch to enable paddlers of all ages and abilities to launch and later retrieve their kayaks. This fund will cover the construction and installation of the adaptive launch ramp system. There was a discussion of parking limited to Meredith residents or those who work in Meredith to enjoy kayaking starting from the calm and shallow waters of Leavitt Beach.
The launch at Leavitt Beach will allow families to teach their young children how to enter into a kayak and paddle. It will also enable kayak enthusiasts of all capabilities to enjoy our local waters and the beautiful scenery of Lake Winnipesaukee.
