The Meredith Rotary Club warmly welcomes Jeffrey Reilly, an original Meredith Native who, after high school, went on to college and a career in Financial Services. After 30 years, he has returned to his roots, continuing his Dad's legacy, who was a member of the Meredith Rotary in the 1980s.

First Presentation - Bree Rossiter from the Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance (LWA)
The Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance (LWA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the water quality and natural resources of Lake Winnipesaukee and its watershed. Through monitoring, education, stewardship, and science-guided approaches to lake management, LWA ensures that Winnipesaukee’s scenic beauty, wildlife habitat, water quality, and recreational potential continue to provide enjoyment long into the future.

LWA is moving offices to Meredith tomorrow from Gilford!
Main Focus Areas
- Bacteria organization volunteering for Meredith.
- Updating Watershed Management Program
- Ice-out sampling monitoring
Sampling Monitoring Details
- Tell what the lake is before lake water seasonal 'turnover'- gives us a baseline.
- Goal: sample at five stations with multiple sample depths at each station
- Total cost: $1,400 covers Sampling cost for scientific analyses, not people cost
- Our potential donation would cover 35%
- Need Volunteers to supply boats to bring out scientists- captain your boat (5 boats needed)
- Each boat is paired with a scientist to help
- These samples will only be taken on Lake Winnipesaukee
- Sampling would take place after the ice-out (usually the first or second week of April typically, but due to the ice this year, it could be the third week of April)
Second Presentation: Bill Kaik (2026 Chair) - Derby Wrap-Up
Suggestions brought forth from the club:
- Special photographer - to take photos of each angler bringing in their fish and email them a photo background roll-up
- Bruce: The Breeze said it would donate something to an angler who brought in the ticket (e.g., a free drink) and would like to have its name on the website. This would be a great way to involve the community in the fishing derby—it would NOT be a sponsorship. You could add it to the ticket, put it on the website, or post the trailer.
- Merchandise: Should we shop out of the trailer? Maybe we should get it out earlier to get into the Christmas Market. Body Covers stated that the store might have been open too long but only for a week.
- Rotary IDs - Something for the Rotarians to wear at the Derby so anglers would know who is “working” the derby (Wool hats, baseball caps, or a lanyard)
- Reducing the Lake Trout population—this is tabled for now but was brought up by Fish Game. Bruce has taken on this for the code. It might be added as a raffle.
- There was discussion about increasing tickets by $50 to increase prizes. More discussion is needed.
- Trailer inside: need a different counter space; Jan will be making curtains
- Children’s Tent- Keep adding to it (maybe adding coffee and hot cocoa, didn’t this year because Interlake’s Children’s Charities)

- Chuck - 5 people skied this week
- Dean - Grandkids were up, and lots of fun activities with them and Bruce’s
- grandkids and Kensley Kaik.
- Bruce - skiing with Elvera the past 3 days, and she was AMAZING!
- Rick Goodby won the 50/50 raffle and returned the money to Janine Neggers’ care closet.
