- We received a Service Project Honorable Mention for the solar project in Rwanda.
- Tim updated us on Major Projects Quarry Pond Accessible Trail project. This trail will be power wheelchair accessible. It’s a steep incline. Viewing platform will be accessible. Need to add a small bridge for accessibility. A lot of help from Middleton Lumber. They have donated quite a bit already. Working with Ambrose on the project. Heidi said we could also get a district grant that would give us another $1000 for the project.
- Gary let us know about a fundraiser for Camp Resilience on June 24. Green Beret with a Mission. Teams are hooked up with a Green Beret for an obstacle course. There is a high level competition and then an everyday person competition. Let Gary know if you’d like to be on a team or donate to the cause. Gary will send out an email with more info.

- Dean let us know that next Wednesday’s speaker with be Nacho for his final presentation. Join us to say goodbye to Nacho!
- Jim was excited to announce that the thermometer for the Meredith Veterans Memorial is now up to $175,000! Thanks Jim. He also spoke with the Meredith police chief about installing Nalox boxes around town. He pointed out key locations for it.

Program
Peter Thorndike, president of the Friends of the Park and Rec. updated us on some projects. Skate Park is wildly popular. Rotary donated the pavilion and the picnic tables for it. The Friends have launched their campaign for “Skate Park Part II.” They have also been working on a playground project at Prescott Park. The Friends board designed and planned the project and are now working directly with Vint, Head of Meredith Parks and Rec. Vint tried to get a federal grant for the project, but since it was a federal grant there were too many strings attached. They have some money pledged from the town and Vint has some money designated for parks and rec that can go towards the project.
Walter Peery’s district in Virginia went to India for an Eradicate Polio project for immunization day. Polio still exists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The only Polio ward left is St. Stepen's in India. There are people still in iron lung types of apparatus. There is a physician at the hospital who is helping people in the Iron Lung to walk upright. They also visited facilities funded by Rotary International that provide cataract surgery and dialysis machines. There are also surgeons that perform pediatric heart surgery. India is so impressed by what Rotary is doing that they have taken over some of the Rotary programs and made them national. Educational attendance is up 80% from 30% so things are looking up for India. He is going to Jamaica in July to donate wheelchairs. He donated a banner to us from his club and we will mail one to him.

Two $15 gift vouchers for Capital Center for the Arts still up for grabs. No takers. Hermit Woods wine tasting for two worth $50. Kevin for $25. Jim happy Celtics are still in the play-offs. Bonnie thanked everyone who came to Lake Clean-Up. Fred for 3045 miles of driving to and from Kansas. Tim found a mowed up 20 bill at the Lake Clean Up and for going away. Heidi happy there was a food truck after the clean up and it was delicious. They will be coming to the Grange this summer while we’re meeting. Kevin for traveling to Alaska and thanks to Jim and Heidi for confirming the guest speaker for the June 7 meeting…our winning robotics team.
