PROGRAM - Club Assembly
Senior Dinner-Betsey reports it’s Dec. 8.  Not sure if Circle girls will help.  Interact might want to play role.  Need simple raffle items (no candles.)   Senior Dinner is for 55+ in Sandwich, Moultonborough, Center Harbor and Meredith.  Limit 300 and sign up starts Nov. 4.  ILES at 11AM Dec 8.  Santa and Mrs. Claus comes and have raffle items.  Seniors get raffle tickets when they come in.  Anna Lee donates ornament.  Jams, jellies, candy, flowers for each member.  Sign up sheet goes around next week.  Call the Chamber to make a reservation.  279-6121.
Paul Harris Committee-Several months ago we were contacted by district regarding club’s participation in many projects, including 100% participation in polio plus campaign.  In recognition we were granted a Paul Harris award above and beyond our usual awards.  Lets the Board of Directors and Paul Harris committee choose a deserving member of club who exhibits all the qualities of Paul Harris.  Members who go above and beyond community service.  This year’s recipient is John Moulton!  Thank you John for all that you do for our community.  Very much deserved.
Mike explained the nominating committee’s work.  Gary Reichland, Bonnie Ireland and Tiffany Pena for the next board.  Thank you to Tim B. for stepping up as President Elect.
Membership Committee.  Please find people that might be interested; let Fred know.  Changes to Rotary constitution on how make-ups work.  Time used on projects can be used to bank for make-ups.  Still processes to be worked through on this. Once it’s finalized Fred will send out updated rules.
Teresa talked about Make-ups.  Tell Teresa to apply make up to a meeting. Tell her which meeting you want it applied to.  If not, it’s just banked.  If you have perfect attendance, ask her to bank it.
Dean updated us on Rotary Youth Exchange.  Wonderful experience on short term exchange with Isabel Dube.  Gary does a great job handling short term project. One inbound student, Paula with Wiggins and Heidi.  Wendy is her counselor.  Smooth sailing for her!  No outbound this year.  One will be applying.  Only 4-6 want to go outbound.  Only 66 kids in freshmen class down from 100.  Hard to find candidates.
Heidi stated it was a little too soon to give a report on scholarship committee.  We will be reporting later on in the year.
Bob reported that the Scholarship investment committee is making money.  Everything is working the way it’s supposed to.
Major Projects meeting is still on hold.  Waiting for Kevin to get back on his feet.  Might be time to reach out to Moultoborough, Center Harbor or Sandwich for a project.
Chuck said Ski Club is ready!  A clinic for our club on how to tune a good ski and what to expect out of it.
Another ski day planned at Gunstock and/or Cannon. Working on that with Bonnie I. Waiting on snow!!
Dan L. on hold for social club until after Christmas party.
Heidi said fishing derby committee meeting in a couple of weeks. A lot of buzz going on behind the scenes. Brochures are done.  In process of getting tickets. Up on website.  We are really underway!!
Carl said the Loon Center cook out was a great time.  Over 300 meals served.  Ben and Jerry’s donated the ice cream as well as donations from other group.  $2.20 per meal.  22 years and a lot of fun.
Ray reported that for PR committee we need to get fishing derby email blasts out to stay in front of people and remind them.  Heidi reports LTD is doing a huge campaign on Facebook.  Donna did a great job with Casino Night PR.  Thanks Donna!
Rotary Foundation donors to Polio Plus. Gary is coordinating with other clubs a project in Rwanda for microloans to immensely change their lives.
Youth Leadership and 4-way test.  Rick reports district will be sending out 4-way test in early December.  Contest was a bit dismal last time.   Waiting to see if board wants us to go forward.  Rick proposes only make an award if rules of contest were fulfilled.  Also getting in earlier with the school.  Rotarians can’t get involved with screening; can only promote.
Program Committee-Erin reports that we have a scheduled program every other meeting to leave room for spur of the moment speakers. See her if you there is something you’d like to present.  Thanks to Ron and Teresa who are on this committee.
