President Fred called the meeting to order at 6 pm at MBCC. The pledge of allegiance followed.
Fred offered a prayer straight from Heaven (actually from the cloud by text from Dan), recognizing the beautiful fall weather and colors.
John Moulton provided a wonderful Mediterranean-themed dinner.
Mary, Steve, and John are our visitors. Bently joined as well. Chris from the Bow Rotary Club is visiting us.

Wendy has a signup sheet for the senior dinner on Sunday, December 8.
Fred has a sign-up for people to work the polls on Election Day. You must be a Meredith resident who is registered to vote. We need at least ten people with a choice of either of two shifts: 645am-100pm or 100-800pm or as much as you can help. Wear your Rotary t-shirt. Spouses, partners, and guests are all welcome.
This Friday, October 25, is the “Trunk or Treat” at the Interlakes Elementary School. Please join us for set up 400-430pm and the event 500-700pm. We are recruiting new members and exchange program kids/hosts. Costumes are encouraged.
Kevin announced the Rotary Foundation’s World Polio Day. Gary announced a personal match challenge to raise at least $500; just let him know.
December 18 is our annual Rotary Club holiday party. For something different this year, it will not be at Harts. Bill has generously offered to have dinner at his wonderful home and provide his chef's cuisine. The cost will be $30 per person, including drinks. We will still have the gift exchange/Yankee swap; more information will follow.
Jim provided yellow Rotary shirts; more are available for new members. He also has a new tri-fold brochure; thank you, Bonnie.
Gary provided an update on Socktober: 435 so far, more coming in, close to 500. Next week is the last week. Gary has his magic “dollars to socks” converter, like water to wine, but better, so you can contribute socks or money.
Ron and the team are making significant progress with the Loon Center shed.
Brian attended the Milford Rotary meeting today to hear a fantastic presentation by Evelina, their exchange student from Ukraine. The club was super nice and provided lunch.

- Bob is playing golf in this warm weather in shorts
- Erin shared that Bentley’s robotics team won the Governor’s Award, including two full future college scholarships
- Fred went to the Vikings game in Minneapolis with his three sons
- Rick is happy about the completion of the bridge to Meredith Neck

Special Rotary Program from Janine
Janine spoke about Bristol Elementary School’s care closet. This was a career change for her based on her passion for youth. The mission is to provide kids with basic hygiene products—discretely—so they can arrive at school clean and improve their educational experience. It also helps avoid bullying problems. The problem is called “hygiene poverty,” which includes losing teeth, skin problems, and smelling bad—all leading to esteem, academic, and other issues.
The program started with $600 and now accepts donations from parents and the Bristol Rotary Club. Please help! Several members donated immediately; any support is appreciated.
Upcoming Program Schedule
The last meeting at MBCC is next week, October 30. We return to Harts on November 6.
