Announcements
 
Fred - thanked John M. for an excellent Rib dinner. Other members agreed.

Everyone welcomed Ed back, and everyone was pleased to see him. Ed shared that he completed a four-month treatment and feels great and happy to return.

Dick - gave a brief talk about the Polio Plus movement, including statistics about how many people have been helped, locations around the world that have received vaccinations, and future locations that Polio Plus is planning to visit. Asked members to consider donating to the Foundation to support their good work.

Fred shared that next week’s meeting will be at a Rotary Outing at the Kettlehead Brewery in Meredith. More information will follow via email from Bonnie Ireland.

  • Erin A. - the Meredith Public Library has been named NH Library of the Year!! A celebration is in the planning stage for Nov. 23rd.
  • Gary - described the painting of the Center Harbor cemetery fence so far, thanked all the people who have helped, and asked volunteers to help finish the job on Monday, Sept.23rd.
  • Dick - returned from a wonderful trip to Asheville, NC, to visit his brother and family.
  • Chuck - informed Erin A. that he would be paying his $8.42 library fine
  • Ed - grateful to be here and able to return to the Rotary meetings
  • Kevin - has brought three neighbors from Moultonborough to the meeting in the hopes of them becoming new members
  • Tim - welcome back, Ed
  • Carl - welcome back, Ed
  • Heidi - shared a funny story about her lost cat, who returned from an unknown adventure after a few years.
  • Dean - hosts for students for Columbus Day are all set
  • John M. - shared his story of having to pack 18 cases of tomatoes for an order and thinking he may be too old, but he did it (just a little slower than when he was younger)
  • Erin K. - so happy to see Ed back. He has a special place in her family's hearts
  • Erin K. - Bentley turning 14 years old on this Friday
  • Jim M. - brought two prospective new members
     
  • 50/50 Drawing - Rick won and donated it back to the club

Announcements and Club Business

Fred - presented and explained line items for the proposed budget for 24/25 and
Requested a Motion to approve the Budget - 1st Gary, 2nd Kevin passed by present members

Board Meeting Allocations -
  • $ 500 Winni Lake Cleanup
  • $ 2500 Sandwich Children's Center

Dean - Youth Exchange - explained a new idea for a club initiative...have members reach out to family, friends, neighbors, etc., for possible Host Families

Wendy - Senior Dinner - flyer art design and info. It is being drafted for review. Interact Students will help with serving. Hart’s will provide food. Asked Rotary members for gift card donations in $5-$25
 
Wendy—Fishing Derby—is working on getting equipment, phones, brochures, tickets, and port-a-potties lined up. Rule Change: Limit two species per day per angler. Ticket sales open Nov. 8th

John—Major Projects—Loon Center Shed—10 x 16 shed. The site work is complete. We are Finalizing the Materials List. Ron will lead the construction phase.

John—Derby Trailer—The exterminator will be brought in. The hitch's A-frame needs weld repair.

Sandwich Playground has not started yet. If John doesn’t hear from Parks and Recreation soon, Fred will contact them again.
