ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Dollars
Dick Gerken gave a buck for attending he Alice Fogel night at ILH, and Carol was awarded Citizen of the year by the Grange for all her work.  Contrats Carol.  Kevin gave a buck for the Gerkens and Jim McFarlin gave $3 for the Sox loss.  Chuck for potential new member Adrian and for Tuckerman's Ravine. Bob Kennelly is happy golf season is back. Pendergast is thrilled tax season is over.

PROGRAM Rob Wichland gave us statistics for the 2017 real estate market. The demographics of real estate buyers include 62% married people, 14% unmarried and 15% female buyers. The median market is $255K with 99% being financed. Single home vs condo sales are huge. Sales are coming back to the level they were statewide in 2000.  Average day on market is based on how well the property is priced.  Inventory is extremely low. National median continues to grow with supplies coming back online.  Many children have moved back in with their parents and there are very few "spec" houses being built these days since construction prices have gone up in the past several years.  Because inventory is low, many homes are in midst of bidding wars, and going for over the asking price.
