President Craig led us in pledge.  Rev. John led us in prayer in memory of those that lost their lives on 9/11 and the good deeds of the first responders.

BOD meeting tonight
 
Oct 19 is the barbecue at Veteran’s home in Tilton.  Please bring your significant other and spend time with vets. 
 
Volunteers for Altrusa volunteer fair at Community Center  needed anytime from 10-2.  Email Looking for people to do Sat., Sep. 21, from 10-12 or 12-2 shift to promote Rotary.
 
We are looking for more members.  Please think about possible members and talk to Fred.
 
Dick shared thank you note from Lisa Davis.  Thanking club for their friendliness and support.  Donated $50 in memory of Bob Davis which the club will donate to Camp Resilience.
 
Rob gave us an update on Casino Night.  Still looking for items for silent auction items.  We need ads for booklet.  Please make calls to solicit ads.  Sheet is going around. It needs to be at the printer the first part of October.  Pricing for ads on back page of pamphlet.  See Rob to sell tickets or purchase online.  Goal of 200 tickets.  Please spread the word.

Betsy and Mike happy to be back and Paul Harris meeting two weeks.  Rob is a Grandpa again!  Ray for his phone going off (he fined himself).  Gary for camp resilience.  Tiffany for Ann being back and a nice vacation at Daytona.  Chuck got his saber back and thanks to Mary for bringing it and 9/11 service at Heskey Park.  Jim McDonate for John Moulton hosting farm to table for Meredith Library Fund and for Common Man golf tournament.  Ed for his grandson on water skis.  Ann for being back!  Kevin for Ann being back and for 42 people from his high school lost in 9/11 and for 7th grandchild.  Ginny for victims of 9/11 and for John Woodaman hurting himself at the library and for people who helped Randy.   Dick May presented banner from his club in Sand Hills, NC.  Ron touring France and his son’s wedding.  Brian for Ann being back. Dean for busy weekends with grandkids and for chaperoning the exchange kids.

Shawn Buck from NH veterans cemetery.  About 10% of NH residents are veterans.  Trying to reach every veteran in the state.  Burial earned by service.  Free for veterans and $350 for spouse interred together.  Dependents also eligible.    Full casket in ground, cremation in ground, cremation in vaults.  Don’t require all the remains.  Please visit cemetery.  Beautiful and peaceful.  Taps every day from Memorial Day to 9/11.    No residency requirement.   http://www.nhsvc.com  for more information.  You can donate and have a paver.  Statistics on who is buried there. 
 
Bill Gaudreau Director NH Office of Veteran’s Services.  Three worlds to VA is Healthcare, benefits and cemetery.  If you  have any questions about your veteran’s benefits please contact him and he can help you or direct you to the right person.  Website https://www.nh.gov/nhveterans/ .   Call him at 603-851-1755  Misconceptions about benefits he has heard that are NOT true, “I was drafted so I don’t qualify.”  “I was injured on leave, so I don’t qualify.”  Don’t ever assume you do not qualify for benefits.  Please call him.  Please spread the word to other organizations in a position to assist veterans.
