ANNOUNCEMENTS:
New member Merron Treadwell’s name was put before the club-sponsored by Wendy Bagley.
The Derby:
Tonight is Let Your Hair Down night following our successful Derby! Congratulations to Dave Reid for his leadership this year. Stories from the Derby include one from Betsey involving some inebriated folks in Center Harbor and a truck in the lake. What fun!
Carl Johnson provided some statistics from the Derby: This year AJ’s sold 866 tickets, up only 34 from last year. While we have lost Martel’s as a vendor, the Winnisquam Country Store and Deli has come onboard with guns blazing! Next year we will provide Rotarians to help them as their business was huge this year. Presales were up a bit: next year any dining discounts will be associated ONLY with online sales! Total ticket sales were 5,113.
Happy Dollars and Fines
Betsey is happy for the Derby. Robin Logel sent a few happy dollars from Louisana for the success of the Derby. Dave Reid: proud and happy to have been part of the Derby. Donna had happy dollars for all the work Betsey & Mike did for the fabulous merchandise trailer. Looked like Nordstorm in there. Mike had some happy dollars for celebrating the efforts of Bruce Sanderson and John Sherman. Ginny has a new great-grandson. Heidi had several dollars: thanks to Dave Reid for excellent job and in memory of her dog who went over the bridge this week. Dick Gerken had happy dollars for Ginny being the trailer guard from 12pm to 3am! McFarlin had happy dollars for Dave Reid’s successful year as Derby Chairman and Carl had bucks for Brian Krautz: remember Pittsburgh LOST!
