President Betsey Donovan welcomed everyone and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Dick Gerken provided this evening’s prayer.
GUESTS:
Tonight was the Derby Thank You dinner: and we had approximately 30 guests. Too many to name here, but our visitors included representatives from NH Fish & Game, the Town of Meredith, LTD Marketing, our Derby judges and Donna Fodero. Anthony Hopping (a guest of Dan Langan) joined us along with Bruce and Henry Reichland (who helped clean up the Bay!), and Nancy & Rich Lynne, who recently moved to Meredith and are contemplating joining the club.
PROGRAM:
There was no official program tonight, but Betsey and Dave Reid expressed the gratitude of the club to several of our supporters, including Sara & Aaron from Body Covers; Peter Verrill and Mike Faller; the volunteers of the “Let’s Go Fishing” program; the Interact team; Lorrie Determann of LTD Media; Tim Bergquist, Donna Ulbricht, Betsey Donovan and Heidi Barrett-Kitchen-who provided the hot soup/chili for the trailer; and Donna Fodero and Nancy Wiggin for cookies; and Bonnie Hunt for muffins! Pat Kelly, was recognized for his 20+ years of “service above self” helping with the Derby! David Reid passed the mantle to Heidi Barrett-Kitchen and Fred Strader for upcoming Derbies, and also thanked the team at Hart’s Restaurant for all their support.
John Moulton won the prize money for closest-guess to number of Derby tickets sold!! The total was 5,113 and John estimated 5,111.
Betsey brought greetings from Jim Wallace, who was unable to participate in the Derby this year, but was able to do a “drive by” to witness the events. Get well, Jim. We miss you.
