WELCOME ALL

President Betsy brought the meeting to order at 6:05 PM  and lead us in the Pledge.  Richard Gerken led us in prayer.  The traditional meal was a buffet of turkey and roast beef with all the fixings.

Guests:  Sue Ellen Kador; Beth Wichland; Bob Kennelly Sr., Connie Dehnel, Carol Moritz, Bob Maloney, Nancy Wiggin, Karlene, Carol Goddard, Carol Gerkin, Bobbi Trudeau, Pat McFarlin, Michael Fitzpatrick, and Marc, our Exchange Student.

The annual swap began to the thrill of any distillery!  ‘Royal Crown’ was opened by our underage Exchange student, Marc who was appropriately relieved of it by Ed, our ever alert Guidance Counselor. Carl opened a cuddle loon puppet that quickly became popular for the non-drinkers.  Then there was air compressor later to be followed by yet another, a ‘Bluetooth’ speaker and golf balls for Ray.

A brief break found us wishing Dell and Art a Merry Christmas.  They always remind us that Florida is warmer!

Dave Reid acquired the bottle of scotch; Mike opened a basket of goodies but no booze.  (no regard for those who work outside in winter)  Ed’s Royal Crown had gone unnoticed but not by Don who left Ed opening a ‘glossy red women’s purse’ (wine cooler) containing a bottle of chardonnay.  Ed, more than a bit flustered did a curtsy and took his seat.  Dave, chair of the 2019 Fishing Derby, lost his scotch only to be rewarded with a liquor gift certificate.  Anne opened a liter and a half of ‘Absolut’  which Wendy quickly relieved her of.  Ben took Don’s Royal Crown only to get another!  What gives!  Fred got a smoothe mixer.  John Moulton opened yet another ‘Royal Crown’ which Craig quickly snatched (was it a payback?)  Whatever, John got a cheese board set which you may have seen at the farm stand last week.  Tom opened a candle and Robert multiple bird feeders.

Another break raised Carl’s ire when he got Angela’s (trusted former employed) ‘voice mail’ not once but twice!

Bob Mallony acquired the loon puppet from a crushed Chuck but was rewarded with ‘Tiitos’.  Rob took Craig’s Royal Crown (served him right) and gave him an ornament.

Polly May answered her phone in Florida and appreciated our well wishes.

Dean then snatched the loon puppet and, much to its dismay, it ended up in the hands of none other than Jim McFarlin.  (Yikes…  Will it end up in the time capsule?)  Dean left with an air compressor.  Heidi got some goodies and a ‘google home mini?  Bob Davis took Gary’s gift…  a bottle of Speyburn Scotch Whiskey.  Gary left with a ‘Christmas Santa’.  Ben has a framed picture commemorating past fishing derbies in Meredith.

A great evening to remember ended with Gary winning the 50/50.

President Betsy closed the meeting with Best Wishes to all and a reminder that our next meeting will be in the New Year on January 9th.
