The financial results are being tabulated but it is clear our first Hamilton AM Drive-Thru Ribfest was a big success! Six team members, 15 club members and family, 4 Rotaractors and 9 from Hamilton-East Wentworth/Stoney Creek Rotary carried out 63 x 2 hour shifts on duty at the Lime Ridge Mall parking lot.
Customers could choose from donuts, candy, corn and fries and poutine vendors and then selected ribs, chicken, pulled pork and other delights from two "Ribbers" offering mouth-watering Louisiana and Kentucky style offerings.
With every donation came an offer of a free bottle of water or two- welcome on the hot days. In the busy periods, it could take a while to get to the front of the line but most were very patient and often generous! Rotary's role was to welcome and invite donations and many put some cash in the bucket and we had some "tap" machines for those that preferred to use credit or debit. A report on the outcome, financial and otherwise will be out shortly.
Our next Ribfest is July 23- 25 at Ancaster Fairgrounds and an August event is scheduled for August 20 - 22. You won't want to miss them!
