The Bishop Ryan Robotics Team Celt-X 5406 is currently in their recruitment and training period for the upcoming 2020 FIRST FRC Robotics Season. A High School robotics team in it's 6th year has 55 team members and a dozen plus volunteer mentors.  The competitive robotics competition is the catalyst used to draw the students into the program where they learn to design, build and code a robot in six weeks.  The students learn hands on and practical operation of computer design software, CNC routers, laser cutters, lathes, sheet metal and tube benders, drill presses, band saws and numerous hand and power tools.  This team is very successful on the field having qualified for the World Championship all five seasons since it started.  Last season they finished as Alliance Finalists at the Detroit World Championships.  Off the field they are ambassadors of S.T.E.M. with outreach efforts such as attending numerous community events, school information nights and events, science fairs, hosting off-season F.R.C. events, mentoring elementary school F.L.L. Lego teams and so much more.  Check them out and follow their TWITTER account at www.5406.ca
