John Holme discusses origins, beliefs and practices of Islam.

At the September 18th meeting, John Holme shared the information he garnered from a recent course on Islam that he took at Dartmouth. John described the origins of the Sunni and Shia sects. He discussed the six pillars of Islam, the daily prayer ritual, early spread of Islam and current practices. John stressed the common roots of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.  All three fundamentally encourage peace and non-violence.

Great Job John!!
